Bonterre
Bonterre is a specialist alternative education provider based on an 8-acre small-holding here on Top Barn Farm.
Bonterre’s main work is in providing one-to-one therapeutic support to children struggling in a classroom setting because of Special Educational Needs or Disability (SEND) or other emotional, social or behavioural difficulties.
Bonterre also provides training in recognized horticulture and floristry qualifications. Students are involved in all aspects of the growing process of the wide range of fruit, vegetables and cut flowers grown on-site, as well as helping with the care of animals.
Through their “Living Land” and “Farm to Fork” programmes, Bonterre also support schools in delivering wide elements of the National Curriculum, through the delivery of practical and memorable off-site experiences.
With an ethos that ‘everyone has a future and a right to a purposeful place in society’, they use creative, hands-on learning to create balance and positivity, encourage a better connection to nature, and unlock children’s potential.
